Mindful movement of the month - June 2017
MINDFUL MOVEMENT MONDAY - The hip hinge is fundamental to moving well and for strengthening our posterior chain: glutes, hamstrings, backs. Our bodies feel resilient when our 'chains' are balanced. Most people need to strengthen their posterior chains due to sitting all day and/or as a result of not engaging in all the primal movement patterns on a regular basis. When the strength in our bodies isn't balanced in a state of more optimal bio-tensegrity, we feel more fragile or less integrated both physically and sometimes psychologically depending on the diversity of our abilities. So, one of the most basic movements my clients learn is how to hip hinge. 'Waking' up a more dormant muscular/fascial line sure creates shifts in how people perceive their strength. And that shift can stick in a way that helps people experience the embodied strength they just needed help tapping into = resiliency. #igdlbg #resilency #selfcarewarrior #selfcare #posteriorchain #resourceyourself #emotionalcontainer #selfcarewarrior #bodywisdom
